What has been achieved in your first year?
Que peut-on retenir des 3 premiers trimestres 2006 ?
Maquiz'ART has produced five main events: a jazz evening in the Pizzeria, a blues evening in the Holiday Village, a jazz concert and aperitif in the castle courtyard, a concert with Raul de Souza, also in the castle courtyard and of course 'Salsa Hot ', the Latin/ Salsa evening in the castle gardens in August. They were all a great success..
Notre association peut compter à son actif :
· 1 concert jazz à la Pizzeria des Arcades,
· 1 concert Blues au Village Vacances
· 1 apéritif Jazz dans la cour du Château
· Raul de Souza, dans la cour du Château
et surtout la soirée SALSA HOT, dans le jardin du Château. Toutes ces manifestations ont remporté un grand succès.

What have you achieved by producing these events?
Que peut-on retenir de ces évènements ?
We have felt really pleased to have welcomed not only numerous music lovers but also capitalised on some of Eymet's historical sites.
Nous en avons retiré de grandes satisfactions et accueilli de nombreux amateurs en fonction de la capacité des lieux. Tout en mettant le patrimoine en valeur.

We always managed to create a warm and inviting atmosphere and the audience were able to share our passion for the different types of music.
A chacun de ces concerts, l'ambiance était chaleureuse. Le public a partagé notre passion pour toutes ces expressions musicales.

We had sensed a real demand from the local residents - Maquiz'art was created to respond to this demand.
On avait senti une attente et une demande des résidents de la région, Maquiz'ART s'est créé pour y répondre.

What are Maquiz'ART's ambitions ?
Aujourd'hui, quelles sont les ambitions de Maquiz'ART ?
First things first - we are not about elitist and untouchable music only for the connoisseurs.
On peut dire ce qu'elles ne sont pas : tout d'abord, pas de " grosses têtes ", pas de culture élitiste ni hermétique.
Now, what we want is to be able to remain popular, accessible and fun. We would like to bring and share our pleasure - pleasure of being together at the centre of something of quality. Our raison d'etre is to stimulate the cultural arts of all types in the Dropt valley. Our ambition is to communicate our enthusiasm and to aim to benefit from the high level of quality that is pervasive in all our events that we plan.
Maintenant, ce qu'on souhaite, avant tout, c'est de rester populaire, être festif. On aimerait apporter et partager du plaisir, plaisir d'être ensemble au cœur d'un mouvement fédérateur. Notre dynamique, c'est de véhiculer la culture sous toutes ces formes dans la vallée du Dropt.
Notre ambition profonde, c'est de communiquer notre enthousiasme, de veiller à la qualité, au niveau, à la valeur artistique des rencontres que nous proposons et de pérenniser notre activité au cours de rendez-vous réguliers.

What are Maquiz'ART planning ?
Quels sont les projets de Maquiz'ART ?
We've got four dates in the diary for this winter. They are all at the Pizzeria in the square:-
2nd December 2006 - 'Time Out' - singer and percussion.
20th January 2007 - 'Do Harson' and 'Laurent Maur' - piano and harmonica
10th February 2007 - the 'Ferdinand Doumerc Quartet'
10th March 2007 - 'Bantou Jazz'

Then on the 21st of June 2007 we will be participating with the Tourist Office and the music festival.
Puis, le 21 juin 2007, nous participerons avec l'Office de Tourisme d'Eymet à l'organisation de la fête de la musique.

We've also got various other cultural projects in the pipeline - all in conjunction with the Tourist Office.
D'autres projets culturels sont dans les cartons, toujours en collaboration avec l'Office de Tourisme d'Eymet.

So, you have achieved everything you set out to?
En somme… vous pensez avoir atteint votre régime de croisière ?
No - not at all. We've just started. We've got a really ambitious project on the horizon.
Mais pas du tout. Nous avons un projet ambitieux pour notre région…

What's that ?

It will be an Afro - Latino, annual, two day festival in August. But I'll tell you more next time….Il s'agit d'un festival annuel afro-latino, deux jours au mois d'août. Mais…. nous aurons l'occasion d'en reparler…
